Prefix (re-): means "back" or "again" Examples: reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose
I'm often surprised by the creativity of those whom recycle common household goods into one of a kind works of art. It inspires me to go through my closets, cupboard, and pantry looking for things that I can cut up, fold, and sew.
During my quest for tutorials on reusing and recycling everyday items, I've come across a few
tutorials that are simply genius. In fact, I've complied a list of my top five projects made from recycled and repurposed products. Below are my picks for the crème de la crème of projects using recycled, revamped, and repurposed goods.
· Just recently I stumbled upon this fantastic free tutorial by Hemming& Willström on repurposing an old cassette tape into a bracelet.
· An oldie, but goody, this tutorial from Dollar Store Crafts will have you drinking more Slice and Mountain Dew than you ever thought you could stomach.
· The Long Thread has the greatest how-to on making a journal from empty cereal boxes. (If you're a regular visitor to my column, you know how I just adore reusing cereal boxes!)
· Cut Out and Keep shows us how vinyl records get a new spin on life when reincarnated into a bowl.
· Hack up your keyboard at Craft Bits with their computer keyboard earring tutorial.
