Here is a simple sewing pin and needle cushion that you can make for yourself, or choose cheerful fabrics to make several pin cushions for your sewing friends! Once your sewing skills improve, you can even make more and sell them online.

You will need the following materials
~ Batting for interior
~ 2 pieces of 3 ½” x 3 ½” fabric
~ Coordinating thread

Instructions
1. First, pin the 2 pieces of fabric RIGHT side together.
2. Using a seam allowance of ¼’, sew up all the sides, leaving a small opening of about 1” on 1 side.
3. Turn the project over to the RIGHT side.
4. Fold in the seam allowance at the small opening.
5. Push in batting to fill up the pin cushion to your desired fullness.
6. Top-stitch around the pin cushion to close the opening and give the pin cushion a more defined shape.

The pin cushion is a small project that is easy to make and adapt to your own designs. You can applique on the top piece, or add in embriodery details. You can add pleat details, or add a ribbon binding to the sides.

The variety of fabrics for this project is quite wide. You can choose cotton, linen, felt or even wool. There are so many beautiful fabrics available online that you can choose from. Choosing a lovely fabric, and making a very sweet pin cushion will help brighten up your sewing room and put a smile on your face.
