So many businesses nowadays are promoting a campaign for earth awareness. America's Second Harvest, Heifer International, even Artfire itself is dedicated to working with Trees for the Future. Every time a new member joins the ArtFire family, a new tree is planted in Honduras, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Senegal, India and the Philippines. From trees to clean drinking water to even chocolate (yes, chocolate!) helping out others both human and animal has never been so easy!
Endangered Species Chocolate is one such company. According to their website, Endangered Species Chocolate "uses the universal appeal of chocolate to spread a positive environmental message. We do this by creating a selection of the highest quality, all-natural, ethically traded chocolate, including certified organic offerings. By purchasing ethically traded chocolate, we guarantee cacao farmers a fair wage that leads to more sustainable farming practices."
I first came across the "wolf bar" of Dark Chocolate with Cranberries and Almonds one day while strolling through the aisles of a Whole Foods grocery store, and I’ll admit, looking for something sweet to snack on. Now I'm not a huge chocolate aficionado, but I think I am going to bite the bullet this weekend and indulge myself in the delicious textured treat pictured to the right and make a difference to an endangered wolf cub.
10% of Endangered Species Chocolate's net profits are donated not only to support endangered species, but they also help habitat and humanity as well. So get down to your local Whole Foods or log on to http://www.chocolatebar.com and buy a bar for yourself and a friend, and save a species on the verge of extinction.
