I see many businesses that never offer discounts or have sales. There is by no means a rule that says you must have sales, but there should be! If you are one of those businesses who isn't offering discounts, you are missing out! Promotions of any kind are one of the biggest attractions to potential customers.
If you haven't yet tried having a sale because you are afraid to lose money, I have good news for you! A sale will do just the opposite. In the beginning, you may lose a small portion of your profit, but in the long run, it is more than worth it.
The purpose of a sale or special offer is to attract the attention of buyers. A special deal will increase your sales. In addition, you will likely have repeat buyers, or if you offer a service, you may have customers frequently use your services. So, if you haven't had a sale or promotion yet, you no longer have an excuse-having a sale is a great thing!
Many businesses have continuous sales, so their customers always get a good deal. They may offer free shipping everyday, always offer 10% off, or offer “destash” lots. Buyers are always attracted to a sale, so using these tactics works. Online sellers may tag their listings with keywords like sale and destash, which will surely draw attention.
