Selling doesn't have to be confined to online stores - it shouldn't be! Online isn't everything - and no seller can afford to stick with just one store, or one way to make sales - so check out local craft fairs, and perhaps a second online store, for the Christmas holiday period now. Expand your marketing opportunities.
If there are regular fairs near you - visit them and check out the ambience, see how it feels to you as you walk round. Does it seem well run? Is there a waiting list for stalls? This means it might be a good place to be. Speak to organisers, or email, and ask about opportunities and waiting times.
It may take a bit of research to find your local fairs as they might be popular but off your regular route. See who runs the fairs etc., check out local papers etc., this is another marketing opportunity and will get you better known locally which can be a big plus. I was offered the opportunity to sell my art doll pins in a store as they were seen by the owner at a craft fair. Sometimes shop owners do browse the craft markets. They are looking for high quality and unique gifts for their stores - this could be you - so look your best and be courteous to everyone. Mrs Grumpy might run a great gift store in the next town.
Doing a craft fair for the first time can be nervewracking or exciting. Just make sure you have enough stock, business cards and anything like tables, covers and anything else the organizers ask you to bring. Focus on maximising this marketing opportunity by having a dummy run and setting up your stand. See how it looks with everything laid out ready for opening time. Presentation (see article 1) is important - if you have invested time in making your stand look good - you are investing time in marketing yourself and your work.
Launch yourself into Craft Fairs and get instant feedback to improve your marketing.
