Do what works best for you. Period the end.
Honestly with all
the information floating around here (which is wonderful)so many new
sites opening up, social networking, advertising, giveaways,
features.... How do you decide where to go what to do and most
importantly where to find the time.
The best way to promote my online sales - and this is on all the sites and shops I manage - is to be around. List items with good photos, regularly, be prolific in a good way(this varies by what you are making / selling of course). Talk about them online. Be visible, let people see you participating, helping, being positive.
nstead, try and find people that might be interested in your work and talk to them. Share your enthousiasm for your work, make them want to see it (and perhaps even buy it). Ask them about their hobbies (and perhaps even their creations). Be truly interested in them and in their work. Put yourself in second place while you are listining to them and comment to them without thinking about yourself first.
promoting your shop and your products in a place with so many competitors is NOT about dropping a link and running away.
You
want potential customers to get to know you. Get to know you in a
positive way. Have them be curious about your products. Have them want
to check out your shop. Have them want to buy your products.
A flyer thrown at their feet will not get you those results.
