I live with my husband and 4 year old son our family home is in a rural village with some lovely surrounding areas. My son has now has an interest in crafts and has become my muse for my creations, he adores helping choose beads and wire colours when I am designing and has his own project box full of all sorts of craft goodies. My husband is very supportive of my business even though he doesn't take a particular interest in jewellery he admires my skills and determination to create my own business.
I also love writing, I was particularly interested in English literature however I never got the chance to study it. I had a passion for writing short stories and poetry in my youth and am glad that I can continue to write informative articles that relate to the world of handmade and fashion.
The beginnings of my jewellery making career happened longer ago than I thought it did. I used to enjoy all types of crafts in my childhood which was encouraged by my godmother. At 8 I used too make friendship bracelets from needlepoint skeins I also began selling a few at my godmothers craft fairs. It wasn't until I was 17 that I discovered my love for beads and wire, I took up jewellery making as a hobby and from there I had friends requesting items then got invited to charity events. I began selling my work properly about 3 years ago at local markets and eventually joined Artfire in June 2009 to take my business further. In July 2010 I finally realised a dream of mine to fully hand make my jewellery, I now make all my own lampwork beads and findings that I use in my bespoke designs.
