Hi, my name is Marissa Jenkins aka libertydoll and it is a pleasure to be part of the staff at HMN.

I was born in Idaho and raised in Washington. However, we moved to Missouri when I was 9 years old. We live way out in the country where it is quiet and peaceful most of the time. However, not so in my house because of my big family. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother and we grew up together in a house with only 1 bathroom. Yes, it was a bit difficult but it was also noisy and alot of fun too. I have been a crafter since I was a little girl. It was important for me to express myself which is not easy with 4 other siblings. My mom, who is fabulous on a sewing machine, taught me the basic skills and I have taken to sewing really well. I have been trained in the arts and have a 2 year certification in graphic art.

I also served in the Military and spent 2003 in Iraq. Because of my military position I was given college credits for being a Communications Specialist and at this moment I have just about 2 years of college under my belt. During my military stay I won various awards and medals that I am quite proud of.

I am blessed with a 4 1/2 year old daughter who is my inspiration in all things that I create and do. Her name is Liberty and that's why my user and studio name is libertydoll. It is my way of honoring her who I adore with all my heart.

I have traveled quite a bit and have visited about 35 US states. I love to craft, see movies, work in the garden, and read historical romance novels. I also have quite a weakness for chocolate covered peanuts and pecans.
